Meet Lewis, our local chef-to-be

This Valentine’s Day at The Greystones, we’re proud to celebrate not only a love of food, but a commitment to growing local talent from within our own team.

Our special Valentine’s menu has been designed and will be hosted by a young, aspiring local chef from Sawtry, who has been a valued part of The Greystones team for the past four years. During that time, we’ve had the privilege of watching his passion, confidence and skill in the kitchen grow year after year.

His culinary journey began at Sawtry Village Academy, where he first discovered his love for food through studying Food Technology. Determined to turn that passion into a career, he progressed to Stamford College, where he is now in his third year of professional training.

Already holding Level 1 and Level 2 NVQs in Professional Cookery, and on track to fully qualify this summer, his true passion lies in fine dining, crafting dishes that are refined yet approachable, with carefully balanced flavours and subtle creativity. His cooking philosophy centres on maximum flavour through simplicity, allowing high-quality ingredients and thoughtful technique to speak for themselves.

This Valentine’s menu is a perfect reflection of his ambition. It allows him to do exactly what he aspires to do long-term: design a menu from scratch, add his own personal touch, and deliver it to guests at a high professional standard, something he hopes to one day take with him into a career working aboard a cruise ship.

This Valentine’s Day at The Greystones, enjoy an evening where love, food and local talent come together to create something truly special.

Our two-course Valentine’s menu has been carefully designed by Lewis, our local chef-to-be, whose passion lies in thoughtful flavours, elegant simplicity and food made to be shared. Having begun his journey at Sawtry Village Academy, Lewis has created a menu especially for this night, a personal expression of his love for food, shared with the love of your life.

This isn’t a standard set menu, but a dining experience created with care, warmth and intention. With limited tables available, we recommend booking early to be part of a Valentine’s evening made with genuine heart.
